Hey, first post!
I'm running Boxee on a Windows 7 machine, and control it with my media center remote.
Is there a way to assign the media center button of my remote (the one that currently opens media center) to open boxee? I know there's a boxee add-on for WMC but I'd rather just go straight to Boxee if it's possible?
Thanks for your time!
John
Edit: Whoops! Sorry for the wrong category, didn't see the "boxee remotes" category...

It's a little tricky to get setup, but eventghost (http://www.eventghost.org/) will let you do this.

I use Boxee Integration with Media Center.

It is not exactly what you are looking for but it gets the job done.

There are some different PC "MCE Enhanced" Remote Controls in www.ultiremote.com. Some come with Trackball Mouse, OFN Mouse (like Blackberry), all come with Emitta software.
Emitta can remap all/every remote button key definition for any different APP. Emitta can assigns hotkey, macro, system event, quick launch program as you expect even on MCE's colored or my ???? buttons.
So, to run/launch external program like your favorite PPS or Karaoke from inside of Boxee, the remote control works all the time. :)

Maybe they're not but all to hacks arround remotes seam a bit complicated to me.
Would it be possible for Boxee to ask to reassign the media center remote button when installing? or some additional script that we could run? something a bit easier.
Otherwise, I'd rather wait for the Boxee remote...some day...some day...
