Hi,
I just got invited to Boxee, and I was wondering, will there be any RPMs for Mandriva or other distros in the future? I can even mantain a Mandriva repo if you guys won't :)

I'm in the process of downloading the source right now to try and build it.

Thanks!

@Extreme Coder, know that Boxee uses XBMC (http://xbmc.org) source code as its base, so feel free to submit patches to the XBMC project for building a XBMC RPMs for other Linux distobutions. If and when XBMC support it fully then I am sure Boxee will not be far behind.

You (and Boxee) might be interested in checking out openSUSE Build Service which is capable of building software RPM packages for many different Linux distributions.

Maybe host them all on the PacMan repository (as openSUSE do not allow you to host ffmpeg, libdvdcss, and a few other codecs in their repository):

the build service is vey interesting, but at this point we do not have the resources to build, test and maintain boxee on so many platforms, each with its own versions of the different dependencies, and so forth. if the community wishes to build, package and test, we should have no issue with hosting the packages, or linking to them.

Again; "If and when XBMC support it fully then I am sure Boxee will not be far behind"

check team-xbmc README.linux if they have any hints on making on SUSE, or check their forums. if there is a step-by-step to build for SUSE with all dependencies, it should work with boxee as well.
