hehe, this is great news, considering i have a wiimote and boxee, but not a wii.

one question: is there a list of keyboard key commands that boxee recognizes, so that i can map them appropriately to the wiimote?

Yes, in /opt/boxee/system/Keymap.xml . And the Lirc mapping file is in ~/.boxee/UserData/Lirccmd.xml

Will any bluetooth USB dongle work with this?

Don't know about bluetooth. I don't really see much mention of it on the lirc web page: http://lirc.org

Cool, the one I picked up on eBay was $2.99 shipped :) We'll see how it goes.

Just a quick note: I was able to get the wiimote working with 8.10 using a cheap 5 dollar usb bluetooth adaptor and the instructions in this thread. I don't think it's using LIRC though, but rather 'wminput'.

I cant get this to work! XBMC-Wiiremote is running but boxee isnt responding. Keymap.xml has values for Wii. Its the exact one from here:

http://xbmc.org/trac/browser/branches/linuxport/XBMC/system/Keymap.xml?rev=15280

Please help!

Try using 'wminput' as the instructions linked in the first post of this thread suggest.
