UPDATED: nothing has changed - can anyone else confirm that they have the same issue - i.e. take a dvd iso, download .srt file for it, and see if they can get it playing?

ORIGINAL: I have ripped many of my dvds to isos and play them through boxee on my macbook. However, I have found that while .srt files are available for some of my dvds that did not have subtitles on the dvd, I am unable to get the .srt files working.

For example, my copies of "Blue State" and "The Mutant Chronicles" both came without subtitles. For both of these, subtitle files were found through the CC link on Boxee and the files were downloaded. However, I cannot get them to work.

The subtitles will work if I fire up VLC and play the ISO through that and use the .srt file that Boxee downloaded.

XBMC also fails to play the .srt files. I have had no problems with .srt files for videos/movies that are not ISO.

Hopefully someone has answers and/or suggestions.
