Help! Boxee is crashing on startup. I've removed all traces of the previous versions, but haven't been able to get it to run since 9.20.x. I downloaded the newest version today 9.2.0.10708, but it still crashes. I tried setting up the debug log, but think I did it wrong because the only output to boxee.log is:
13:56:05 T:2686518528 M:1658560512 WARNING: Settings file does not exist, defaults assumed, path = special://masterprofile/profiles.xml
13:56:05 T:2686518528 M:1658437632 WARNING: Settings file does not exist, defaults assumed, path = special://masterprofile/profiles.xml
Anybody know what's wrong?
Thanks!

Are you sure you deleted the UserData folder?
Please visit the support site
support.boxee.tv
and click on "Boxee Basics" and then "How do I install or upgrade boxee?"
--------------------------
1) Delete the boxee application
2) Delete the boxee userdata folder in "Application Support"
3) Repair disk permissions
4) Restart your computer
5) reinstall boxee.

I'll try repairing disk permissions, but I did delete the user data folder.

consider posting a bug report on jira.boxee.tv
-- create advancedsettings.xml file
-- attempt to open boxee
--create jira report ticket, attach boxee.log
-- give detailed description of problem (including your method of reinstall and repair disk permissions)
-- post link here so people with similar problems can vote in support.

Nothing in the crashreporter logs, even after installing xcode and turning it up to developer level logging. I will submit a bug as soon as I have the chance.
Thanks,
tim

I have tried this (including the second link you posted on how to fix the xml file if it wasn't working) and it's still not working. I do not get any white text on the screen, boxee closes immediately and the only data in the boxee.log file is what I listed in my first post. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Tim

In Console "All Messages" when I search for Boxee this is the most recent entry:
2/18/10 10:08:08 AM ReportCrash[708] 0x21b7000 - 0x21b9fff +libvorbisenc.2.dylib ??? (???) <7834B782-D0E1-C124-600F-46CBDF62D5F1> /Applications/Boxee.app/Contents/Frameworks/libvorbisenc.2.dylib
In Console messages I get the following:

We really need to get hold of the crashreporter when Boxee crashes it opens up a message box "The application boxee quit while.." can you select Report and post the details ..

It's not even getting that far. If you look in the console message above there is a line about "fail to save crash report"
:(

The failed to save crash report mentioned the folder "DiagnosticReports", which I found did not exist. After creating the folder and running boxee I received a crash screen. The info from the crash is too long to post here so I have posted the .crash file as well as a copy/pasted text of the crash file at the following links:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/440299/Boxee_2010-02-18-102322_LINEDpple.crash
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/440299/boxee_crash.rtf
Is this what is needed or is there something else?
Thanks!
