Following instructions found here:

http://app.boxee.tv/download/terms/ubuntu_hardy

However, I'm getting the following error:

Failed to fetch http://apt.boxee.tv/dists/hardy/main/binary-lpia/Packages.gz
404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Is the server down or did make a mistake in installation setup?

Thanks
Marta

I'm using a Dell Mini 9, which has the Intel Atom processor with the Intel gma 950 graphics.

thanks.

that would explain it... there is no lpia (low power intel architecture) build of boxee.

the i386 should work, though... not sure how to override what type of arch apt looks for.

here's a direct link to the i386 deb:
http://apt.boxee.tv/dists/hardy/main/binary-i386/boxee-0.9-r3970.hardy.deb

you may need to use dpkg -f to install it.

funny - i just posted the same question! I'm trying to install all the required packages, which is a pain. Does it *really* need 'libcurl4-openss-dev'? That means it installs all kinds of other dev packages.

So I got Boxee to work, more or less, on the Dell Mini. doing dpkg -i --force-architecture *.deb listed a bunch of dependencies that I just went through and did apt-get on.Then I had to make the <vsync>0</vsync> change in the guisettings.xml file, as it ran far too slow without it. So now I mostly have it working except, darn it all, the *exact* same problems I have on opensuse - Youtube & Hulu don't play. I get the spinning flower, then back to the title list. :(

At least now, bxflplayer doesn't give a warning about libcurl. But still no joy in mudville.

Does anyone have a direct link to the intrepid package? This hardy one doesn't seem compatible, even if you force install.
