In a quick online audition a did come over a Creative SLIX for the cheap.
In my normal "buy now, think later" mode a just bid on it (its now 7days to the end)
It small and a heard its a low noize machine.

So the specs and plans.

Throw out Windows and go for Ubuntu (will be my first 100% Linux pc)

Intel Celeron 1,7ghz
512 Mb ram (Pc 3200-400) (Going to boost to the max with new ram)
80GB IDE HD (works okay, but HD are cheap, so put in a 500GB+)
DVDdrive standard burn and play
Floppy (Throw it out and fill the hole with a cardreader)
Nvidia Geforce 2Mx100/200 (its VGA, will it look okay or do a just need to find a cheap card with DVI??) am think of the picture quality on standard divx, avi files
Its room for a soundcard, so just find a soundcard, or do the internal work just fine for music and movies?
What USB wifi thumb do a need to get that works with Ubuntu? can a us a cheap generic?
What remote works with Ubuntu and Boxee???
