Ok, the real problem is that my Mini loses it's digital audio sometimes, but Boxee could handle it more gracefully. ;) I tried starting Boxee 3 or 4 times, and it crashed immediately:
21:28:11 T:2685364000 M:115499008 WARNING: CoreAudioRenderer::Initialize: Unable to locate configured device, falling-back to the system default.
21:28:11 T:2685364000 M:115515392 ERROR: CCoreAudioHardware::GetDefaultOutputDevice: Unable to identify default output device. Error = 0x00000000 ( ).
21:28:11 T:2685364000 M:115515392 ERROR: Creating a Null Audio Renderer, Check your audio settings as this should not happen
I love the error message... I agree, it should not happen :) Once I realized the audio was gone and fixed the audio (by unplugging the cable and plugging back in), Boxee started up fine. I tried looking in jira but didn't see anything ... I assume most people don't have audio devices dropping off on them very often :P
I attached a crash log, though it seems like an easy one. Should I try to create a JIRA account to post it? I wasn't sure about etiquette :)
