I got an invite for Boxee :) Was wondering if it's possible to install on openSUSE 11, I'm currently running 64-bit, although I know it's a 32-bit program. Should work fine, but I'm not sure how to install it. Tried zypper but no luck, any ideas, if its even possible.

On another note, I tried installing it on my 8.04 Ubuntu rig, installed fine, but it doesn't run. I have an old nvidia tnt2 video card, so I'm assuming that's the problem. Oh well, hope to get it working soon. Even if I have to install Ubuntu on this rig :(

Thanks,
IceDogg

boxee's only official repo is .deb based, for ubuntu hardy/gutsy only.

there are no .rpm's of boxee that i know of. :(

that said, check out this thread: http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=1445&highlight=opensuse

jdarnold may be able to offer you some pointers.

Yeah, I am currently running boxee on my openSUSE 11.0 box and it works pretty well. I can't play Hulu (and some other videos) because of some weird libcurl version problem (I'll bump that question again). I'd be happy to give you what I had if I had the foggiest notion of what to package up, but I don't just yet I'm working on a blog post about it and hope to have a more complete story soon.
