I have a Sony "living" media center that originally had XP MCE on it then Vista, now windows 7.
My DVD change works fine in 7MC, all the movies show up and play fine. However in Boxee it doesn't see it nor does there seem to be a way to add it.
Also, as a side note. The computer originally came with a Nvidia 6200 which even on XP MCE was marginally functional (CNBC ticker would stall etc...)
I picked up a PNY 9600gt(?) and WOW. What a difference in color depth and response and BOXEE seems to love it. No more jerky streaming video, thumbnails come right up. Its GREAT! I love it. Unfortunately I'll have to take the card back because I need low profile version otherwise the cover can't go back on.
I may just dump 7MC in favor of BOXEE! (I have two extenders so it will have to stay in the background)
Is Boxee the future of Home Media? It looks like it, doesn't it?
Let me know about the about the DVD changer!
TIA
