Now that I've played with Boxee for some time, I know this software can be an incredible replacement for Cable TV. I would love my parents to switch over to Boxee so they can save a good $60 - $70/month. The question is, what small/low profile computer would be best for Boxee?

From what I can see, the AppleTV and Eee Box seem like good contenders (possibly, depending on hardware) due to their relatively small size. When it comes to price, they're reasonable ($200 for Refurbished 40GB AppleTV and $300 for new 160GB Eee Box). Does anyone have any recommendations small/low-profile for what pre-built systems to use?

(Looking for pre-built systems so that my parents don't have to deal with fixing individual parts from here, there, and everywhere.)

Just for ease of use, I'd have to say go with the Apple TV. The hack is easy and there's almost zero maintenance. The only drawback is the remote. It's just a little too dumb for quick and convenient control.

I would agree also, apple tv (which is what I use) seems like the best solution, considering it only does video and is made for it. good inputs , inputs are already there for component and boxee is fairly simple to install. You can also do the normal apple stuff like rent movies with the regular apple tv os.
