How does one go about installing xbmc plugins on the current boxee release? Please explain in simple terms as I am new to boxee and am not familiar with the jargon.

Thanks.

Any plans for support in a future release or is xbmc plugin support officially out?

I have had decent luck at creating my own repository, adding a descriptor.xml (with 'plugin' as the type), and adding the xbmc plugin that way. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it is worth a shot. You can use a (free) dropbox account to serve the files. Just place them in the 'public' directory.

Boxee previously touted XBMC plugin compatibility, I recall the wiki saying "we've done nothing to step in the way of that."

Of course, those Wiki references were taken out around the beta rollout.

Are we talking recompiling to fix this? Part of what makes XBMC great is that you can work around issues on particular devices (ahem, Apple TV), by writing a plugin in XBMC that runs as an app-wide daemon.
