iphone boxee remote sees boxee, error connecting though

I can't seem to get the iphone boxee remote to connect to my theatre pc. It actually finds the host and gets the machine name, but says error connecting. Firewall is off.

Whats wierder is it will work on my laptop just fine. Both have windows 7, both have only the latest boxee. Both have web servers enabled, no password, port 8800.

The only difference is that my laptop is connecting wirelessly, where my htpc is hard wired. both are on the same subnet and using dhcp.

any ideas?

Okay this is weird. I'm only running the latest beta on my laptop, wirelessly and with advanced logging enabled, I can reproduce the problem. But I do see the problem on my wired HTPC using the previous beta :p

I don't particularly want to upgrade the HTPC yet (it still has a working My Feeds for starters!!) but I'm not sure if the devs will both with logs from the previous version...

CyberBobCity -- any chance you can post some logs from your wired HTPC?

Has anyone been able to reproduce this lately? Ideally on 104xx beta? I'm trying to get this to happen on two different computers both running 104xx beta and no joy so far. Which is a good thing, I suppose... :)

This works for me perfectly on my wireless desktop in 10408 under Win7. The earlier beta did give me issues, so this appears to be fixed as far as I can tell.

I haven't been home much in the past few weeks to play with my Boxee machine, but tonight I picked up up new nvidia gt 220 card for my boxee machine because i could see lots of display problems, most importantly issues with netflix.

I also saw while I was way the new 104xx beta and was excited to try it out! I installed my new card, uninstalled the original beta i had, and installed this one, and honestly i don't have skips or display issues on any video i try! nice!

BUT, I opened up my boxee remote app and I STILL get the error connecting screen.
I'll try to post a bug report tonight.

No one can help me out with this problem? I tried analyzing the debug logs from my non working machine with another machine I have that does work and couldn't quite figure out the problem.

going to either ip address from my iphone (my laptop where the boxee remote works vs my htpc where it doesn't) results in a Cannot Open Page message...

going to each of those address from my mac both give me

Access Error: Site or Page Not Found
Cannot open URL


both have the server on with a blank password on port 8800


this makes no sense!

I had this problem for a while too.. :( I finally gave up tryin to fix it. :/
