I've got over 500 mp4 files that I'd like to categorize in Boxee. Any plans on implementing this?
Secondly, they are already categorized in my itunes.
How about just allowing Boxee to use the itunes categories and cover art for my movies?
Thanks.

mp4 files aren't supported? Perhaps that is why the stupid thing can't find my TV shows...

What exactly do you mean by categorize? Do you mean that boxee wont recognize (or "scrap," "resolve") your videos? Or do you mean that you would like to sub-categorize your movie collection... say, into years? Or generas?
Boxee has a license agreement with IMDB to use their art; I imagine that by using Itunes artwork would result in more legale issues, and, worse, money problems.
@akutz: boxee supports mp4 files, as long as they're not DRM protected.

If you follow the boxee naming rules, (hopefully) all your files will be recognized. It works flawlessly for me on ubuntu jaunty, so I guess you shouldn't have any trouble with another os.
As nomad said, they must be DRM-free.
Cheers,
S.

@NomadDNA - Cool. I know it plays them, but I was wondering if it will automatically "recognize" them like I could manually do in the Alpha.

By 'categorize' I mean that in itunes my m4v files are categorized by genre -- ie. children, drama, action, horror, foreign, etc. It makes it very easy to go through a very long list of movies since movies will be grouped together based on genre if I select for it.
In itunes, there doesn't seem to be any categorization between say a comedy and a horror movie so I have to go through the entire list potentially to find the movie that I want. It's doable, but just cumbersome and not intuitive.
In short, I'd like my movies to recognize itunes meta tags and have the option to sort my movies by different fields.
