View Full Version : Using "Wrong Video" to manually set TV Shows not saving changes?

I must be having an misunderstanding on how to use the "Wrong Video" option in Boxee to move video files that are TV Shows from the Movies section to TV Shows.

Since all my stuff is from iTunes, I have set up a new source to point to my iTunes library (located at Drobo HD: Media: iTunes: Library). Boxee has scanned the drive for all files and put all videos into the Movies section (and none in the TV Shows section). Of course, since I'm using iTunes, all TV Shows are saved as S-EE EpisodeTitle.mp4 (for example, Drobo HD: Media: iTunes: Library: TV Shows: Scrubs: 1-18 My Fifteen Minutes).

To update the file accordingly, I go into the Videos section of Boxee and choose Movies. I select a TV Show (in this case, Season 1 Episode 18 of Scrubs titled "My Fifteen Minutes") and choose Read More. Once there, I select Wrong Video? and tell Boxee it's a TV Show. I enter the TV show details (Scrubs, 1, 18). Boxee finds the TV Show title (Scrubs (en)) and I confirm I want to update the whole folder with that setting.

After doing all of this, nothing still appears in the TV Shows section of Boxee and the TV Show is still listed incorrectly in the Movies section.

I'm not sure what Boxee is doing in the background to make whatever changes to the library that are necessary, so I can't really say if this is a bug or normal (due to the naming convention used to identify TV Shows by Boxee). I figured this would update the Boxee library appropriately. Am I missing something here?

I have the exact same issue.

Same problem for me too, except it's also the case for music.

For example - a friends band with an album called 'Take Me Home' comes up saying it's a Cue album, which it isn't, so I change it in pretty much the same way as you but no changes take effect.

Another example - a band called The Presets comes up as just Presets in the artist view for one album but comes up as The Presets in another so there's a duplication there and I can't do anything to fix it.

Is there another way to update information? I'm also not sure if this is a bug or if saying its a wrong album just sends it to a database for approval or something. Nothing seems to change on my computer at all.

Edit:
Okay.. this seems to be just the way boxee is, judging by this topic: http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=262
I still don't get the point of reporting the album as being wrong if it's not going to be fixed though.

I am having the same issue also. I have no issue with music (from what I see), I have let boxee sit over night to see if it would update my tv shows, after using the wrong video link, but no luck. I have added only one tv series, and boxee is trying to put the episodes in as movies. Not sure what is going wrong, I have my tv shows organized as follows:

TV Show
|---TV Season
|---Episode

Anyone else having this issue? Has anyone resolved this? I would like to be as much help as I could to get this resolved, if any one has any ideas on how to resolve this let me know I am willing to try steps to resolve this.

Thanks!

to automatically index tv shows boxee looks at the file format for instance
Csi ny season 1 episode 1 should be something similar to this:

TV Show
|---File with Season/Episode

example
CSI NY
|---csi ny.01x01.avi
