windows MCE remote partially working

I'm using a microsoft MCE remote that work perfectly with XBMC.

But with Boxee, I can only log in and set up my regional settings...but nothing more. I cannot navigate anywhere else.

Can anyone help?

Try removing all lirc in synaptic and start again it worked for me.

I reinstalled Boxee, and everything related to lirc, but it is still the same.

you can try copying the XBMC Keymap.xml over the boxee one.

the file is at ~/.boxee for boxee. make sure to back the original one.

you can also try to reconfigure lirc, using dpkg-reconfigure lirc

Yes, I have exact the same problem on Ubuntu 8. I have also XBMC and Lirc installed and everything works fine there but not in Boxee. Keyboard are not working either.

keyboard not working at all? are you familiar with the fact that you need to press enter on text fields for text entry?

we've had one report of keyboard completely not working, but it was a box issue, not a boxee one, and a reboot fixed it.

regarding the remote issue, please include you /tmp/xbmc.log right after starting boxee and trying to navigate with remote.

indeed. please include your /tmp/xbmc.log right after starting boxee and trying to navigate with remote. there should be some lirc related messages.

also, which remote do you have? we currently have mapping for windows mce remotes. if you have other remote which works under XBMC, please copy XBMC Lircmap.xml to ~/.boxee/UserData/

I have same Problem on my Ubuntu Hardy Maschine.
My xbox360 remote and Keyboard not working after login. The Device works fine in XBMC.

Afterlogin works in this Mainmenu only "select" and the "back" Button.
In the Settings/Weather Menu works "up", "down", "ok" and "back" Button.

But in the Main Menu, not working "up" and "down". I hear only the click click sound.

Whats wrong?

the thing is - i have those same errors and it works fine for me. i was looking for errors about being unable to communicate with lirc.
