Hey all,
So I wanted to put together a decent web remote for Boxee, and I think I've done that... It's pretty small-scale, and works with Boxee's Internal Web Server.
Check it out here:

I wanted something that supported keyboard shortcuts, so I built that in too, so you can control boxee using the arrow keys, etc, via your laptop.
The remote also looks pretty good on an iPhone / iPod touch, as well as the windows mobile phone I was testing it on
Let me know what you think!!

I wish I could try this but I can't find the web directory on my Windows 7 install.
Sad too, would really like to try this on my Palm Pre, or love to see one of these remotes ported to my Pre.

Working on it finding the Windows web directory, if anyone else knows then please post. In Alpha it was in the 'Documents and Settings/[user]/Application Data/BOXEE/UserData' directory, but that doesn't seem to work in the Beta.
Once you can get it running, it should work perfectly w/ your Pre...

On Vista 64, the web server is under:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Boxee\web

On my Palm Pre, I only see Power, Back, Up, Left, and Select. The buttons would no work.
The Right, Down, Fast Forward, and Rewind buttons show up as tiny blank boxes.
In Firefox, everything shows up fine.
Clearing the cache, cookies, history allowed all the buttons to appear. But subsequent reloads would show partial buttons again.

Argh, unfortunately I don't have a Pre to test with, but there's nothing special about the code, its pretty simple... Is anyone else experiencing the same issue on a Palm Pre?

Thanks for posting about the Windows Directory.
Also, on a Mac, its:
/Applications/Boxee.app/Contents/Resources/Boxee/web

Just to let you know I don't think the beta creates the web directory mentioned, I had to create it myself but it does work and the images display fine. On my Palm Pre. A bit sluggish but I imagine that's just the nature of it.
If you're good with HTML/CSS/JS you could always consider making an app for the Palm Pre platform. There's an SDK readily available as well as an app designer that works straight out of your browser called Ares.
No one has really made an attempt towards the platform. There is one developer that did create a media remote with a required back-end service that needed to be installed, but is untested with Boxee but supposedly works with XBMC.

I believe the developer did find some folks here to test with. He confirmed it works with Boxee.

Did he? I can only find 1 post by the developer, and emailed the email address provided and never got a response on if it was working or not. Also the app description has yet to be updated to note Boxee also works.

Hey thanks for this. So far this is the best remote I've seen.

Welcome, glad you're enjoying it!
The next version will have full qwerty support, so keep your eyes peeled!
