720p Stuttering

Hey all,

My first post since joining early this week!

I've got my AppleTV, with the latest build of Boxee on it, and my TV shows are scanned in. Almost all of my TV shows are in 720p with either a Dolby or DTS sound track.

When I play back any of my HD format files, the video stutters like crazy, and the sound goes out of sync.

I'm wondering what your suggestions are?

It may also be worth knowing that all of my shows (approx 2TB) are stored on a Windows Server on a Gigabit network.

Actually they are only available at 100mbps. The ATV doesn't support gigabit. But this should still be plenty for most video.

I see; at least it means there's enough bandwidth to provide 10/100 :)

I did read the other post about 720p, and incase anyone else out there hasnt found it yet, apple tv simply wont play mkv 720p files at the moment :(

unfortunately, this issues is a bit bigger than it seems...

boxee doesn't have access to the gpu on the atv. apple offloads video decoding to the gpu. this is not something that is a simple fix. here is a great post about the issue: http://forum.boxee.tv/showpost.php?p=4490&postcount=18

Pants... Looks like i'm selling my ATV before i've even had it for 12 hours :) my own fault.
