Installed on Ubuntu 8.04 no problem. MCE USB remote not working, I understand it should be supported?

OK got it working.
Instructions say use sudo apt-get install lirc – hard to get correct remote.
Much easier to use Synaptic as it gives a graphical interface which makes it easy to find the remote. Go to System > Administration > Synaptic then search for lirc and mark lirc, lirc-modules-source, lirc-x mark each to install then install. Works well.

Hi,
When installing the software, which options did you select?
I was prompted to choose my remote from two drop-down lists, but am having difficulty picking the right one.
It's an MCE remote, but it's not the standard one. The manufacturer is Sixik - model RC6.

Also, where can you select remote transmitter device after the software has been installed?
I can't find the option/application in the menu.
Thanks.
