Is my appletv broken ?

Hi

I just bought a appletv and installed boxee on it today, all of a sudden the remote doesnt work anymore and I cant login either with ftp or ssh, it says host not found.
I understood it was an alpha release but I didnt realize it could make it useless if that is the case, hopefully there is some people with a solution in here though..
Is there anything todo to get it to factory settings without opening it or using ftp, ssh or remote?
Is it possible to get some patchstick that restores it to factory default so I can try install boxee again to see if it will work then ?
Cause I really want boxee on it, have read lots about it and it seems just to good to be true.
But first of all I need the remote to work with standard appletv firmware.

You did unplug it and restart right? I had to do that on one that I installed then updated yesterday. You can do a factory reset, but that's not required in many cases.

No. you didn't break your ATV. Go into settings>General Settings>Factory Restore.

This will factory restore your ATV. Next, Install all updates to ATV before you reinstall Boxee. Make sure you disable the screensaver in ATV also. Reinstall Boxee, then run all updates. I had a remote problem aslo, but after following these steps, everything works fine now.
