I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with libdvdread4 installed, and ubuntu-restricted-extras as well.

A couple of issues, before I installed the packages listed above, Boxee would hang attempting to play a DVD, but I noticed a library it attempts to load is missing. Now, after installing those packages, it doesn't hang, but the DVD still won't play and the library is still missing.

18:12:42 T:2745154416 M:1616928768 ERROR: Unable to load /opt/boxee/system/players/dvdplayer/libmpeg2-i486-linux.so, reason: /opt/boxee/system/players/dvdplayer/libmpeg2-i486-linux.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

All of this in 10069. Any solution to this?

Also, team boxee should add dependencies for at least libdvdread4, if that is required, to the .deb package.

Its been a while since I messed with DVD playback on Linux, but I believe you also need to install the libdvdcss2 package, unless all of your DVDs are not copy protected.
