Hello!

I browsed the forum and didn't find anything addressing this:

Boxee Beta is working well for me as of now (a few videos mis-categorized, but saw the posts)

I have two external HDD that I use for media, one is full so now I continue to add media to the secondary one although I cannot get any of the media to show up in Boxee from this drive. I have added as new source and checked the constant monitor option. I can manually browse to the device and select the media so no huge deal if I can't get it to work, but it would be nice.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!


Also on a side note: No more comedy central app?

I'm unsure why your external media isn't showing up, but as far as the Comedy Central app goes, it along with several other apps (Hulu, Fox, ABC, etc.) aren't there. The video files however are incorporated into TV-Shows/Movies.

I know when the first Beta was released, the Hulu app was not functioning so I believe that is why it was removed. I'm assuming they will be back, but I've never heard any official confirmation as to what is going on with them.

I'm unsure why your external media isn't showing up.

Same. Are they both connected by the same means, and by the same protocol? I assume your "external drives" are not NAS? What OS are you using? Are you using Beta 10063?

I know that I had to connect to my network drive by entering "smb://10.01.4" - but you shouldn't have that problem if you're on a USB external....

Yeah it's odd.

They are both connected via USB on a USB hub, one HDD pulls all of the video data very well and the other doesn't update a single file.

I am using Mac 10.6.2 and Boxee beta 10063!

I'm baffled. Try this:
-Add the advancedsettings.xml to your user data folder (see "b" in my signature below for help...).
- Open boxee and delete the source of the hard drive that isn't properly scanned.
- Re-add the source of your hard drive.
- Allow boxee to scan (or not scan) for a few minutes.
- Close boxee and attach your log file here.

Is your troubled-HD attached via the Hub? If so, what happens when you attach directly to the computer?

Ugh, I don't know. I don't see anything outrageous: some issues with your advanced settings file, it seems; problems with dvd-rom; thumbnail stuff.

I did a search on Jira and didn't see any issues (there IS a problem like yours involving a SMB network... but...). Try posting your problem, attaching your log (it should fit).
