I just got this same error too. My ATV 2.3/Boxee had crashed and would not boot all the way up, so I did a factory restore, updated to 2.3, then ran the Patchstick. When I tried to ssh I got this message:

I am very new to all this. No experience with Terminal, ssh, etc.

EDIT: Nevermind, found the answer here (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=1389&highlight=ssh+key)
