I was referred here by an employee, zacharyw, on Getsatisfaction.com. I already posted this issue on that site and on Jira, but was told that I should put it here too.

I'm running the latest build (10056, I believe?) as I just uninstalled and cleared all my data and reinstalled it today. I'm running on Windows 7 x64.

Basically the problem is that when I went from Alpha to Beta, the contrast dropped significantly in quality. I posted some screen shots with side by side comparisons to VLC playing the same file:

http://getsatisfaction.com/boxee/topics/boxee_beta_running_with_terrible_contrast_on_video s

The Alpha release used to display videos correctly. This seems to be an issue with whatever codecs or what not were changed between the 2 releases. It's unbearable to watch dark movies through Boxee now.

Yea. That's the post I made on Jira.

Well from the fact the issue on Jira has been assigned to a dev the issue is being addressed and seems to be a known issue, no real need to make a post here unless to point out to others suffering the same issue to vote up the bug you reported or provide any useful debug code.

I was just doing what the employee told me... I don't quite understand using 3 different sites to post issues with a program, but that's what I was told to do so I did.

Just posting this again to see if anything has the same problem before I just give up on Boxee all together. If you have the same issue please vote it up on the Jira link posted above.

Agreed. Actually, there are 4 sites to report bugs and suggestions, and people are been directed to any/all of them based on various reasons/whims.

Right. Though I'm yet again pushing a thread off-topic =)
