LOVE Boxee! My favorite media device by far.

As it's in Alpha, though, I feel I would be remiss not to give notes on the experience, though.

I am on Build 0.9.3940.

* A category for music videos would be very helpful. I have several music video files, and as they don't fall under "Movies" or "TV Shows", they have nowhere to live in the library.

* An indexing status indicator would be VERY helpful with knowing if files aren't showing up because of an issue or because indexing is still ongoing

* Manual name entry for content that Boxee is unable to determine so they could still show up in the library would be handy

* When playing content, it would be more intuitive if on press of the Play/Pause button, the content paused as the control menu comes up. Otherwise a double-pause click is currently required.

* Speaking of the control menu when watching content, having it auto-hide after so many seconds of non-activity would be nice.

* With mp4 content including chapter breaks in the file (such as DVDs converted with Handbreak), having the ability to chapter skip would be useful

* When music starts playing, having it go straight to the music visualizer would seem more intuitive

* I have been unable to get any YouTube content to playback.

* After telling Boxee that a piece of content in the library was misnamed, it shows the login and password as part of the SMB:// connection string in the dialog asking whether to apply the change to all content in the folder. This presents a security concern as it exposes a password.

* For multipart movie files, I have tried the naming structure mentioned elsewhere in the forums ({IMDBName} {PartNumber}-of-{TotalParts}), but the system only seems to recognize the first part and not give access to the rest of the content.

* Some method of designating episode numbers to a video file that is not part of a regular TV season according to TVDB. For example, the series finale of the show Extras is considered a "Special" by TVDB and not part of season 2, which is likely why Boxee is unable to recognize it.

* Given the number of times a library rebuild is required during the Alpha stage (for testing and clearing out library issues), it would be nice if Boxee would retain somewhere in memory renaming data from the previous library. That way, for example, when telling it that Battlestar Galactica episodes are from the new series, it would know to associate these eps with the new series when found while rebuilding the library.

* I seem to get a lot of Boxee crashes with it exiting with status code 4. These seem to happen most when Boxee is chugging away at something from the sound of the hard drive.

Wow, I'm sure these seem like lots of notes (and I'm sure I will have more), but I really do LOVE Boxee and just want to see it become even better!

this is a known bug, at the moment.

How often does Boxee index new items? I had 6 new shows added to my network last night, but only three are showing up in the library even now.

More notes:

* When some eps of a given show are already in the library but others are not recognized, if you tell it the name of one of the unrecognized shows and tell it to apply the name to all contents of the library, it creates duplicate entries for all of the previously recognized items as well.

* For inputting the show name, season, episode format in using an AppleTV remote, it would save time if the comma was on the main screen-keyboard.
