Anyone use this dinky think?

Seems like a good choice if you want basic text entry and directional pad.
Along side a PS3 remote, would work well i imagine.
The question is, how reliant is the new beta on mouse functionality?

OMG, I could sneeze and blow that thing up.
Re mouse: what do you mean exactly? I have a HDE remote with mouse features, and it works fine with Beta... It depends on the hardware, as you'll notice with some other posts.

You're right, that wasn't helpful. You can find the remote here:

Thanks for that!
Not sure i have a need for such a thing, i have a logitech dinovo edge which has a touchpad built-in.
I prolly will be getting this...
http://www.universalremote.com/product_detail.php?model=135
If you shop around you can find it for a lot less than official RRP (avs forums & remotecentral are a good resource)
2nd hand sales etc..
You wanna make sure you're getting it from someone that owns CCP (http://www.cepro.com/article/urcs_ccp_software_makes_programming_easy/K356) though...
Or buy it from a dealer who is prepared to include that in the sale...
The mx-980 editor's fine for most things, but not as new and will no longer be updated like CCP.

When i say mouse functionality i mean will it take a mouse do such tasks suchs as getting a curser into a text field for example or can I simply use a remote or keyboard arrows to do that.
What i am really asking is..
Can one use a keypad or keyboard and be able to take full advantage of all of boxees features?
Or will i need to bother with some mouse-like peripheral such as trackpad, trackball, free-air-mouse?
I wanna use the above keypad - along site a Playstation 3 remote and have full functionality.

Mouse functionality shouldn't be needed at all...
All decent 10ft UI's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10-foot_user_interface) are designed to work well with keyb's or remotes.
