View Full Version : Some apps not showing

I have added a few repos in my beta, but some of the apps are not showing in the apps library (e.g. fuzzthed, sgilliard or unboxeed) . I can access them only by going to repositories and clicking on the name.
Clicking on "add to my apps" from the repo does add the app to my library.
I run boxee on jaunty.
Cheers,
S.
Edit: Not all the apps can be added directly from the repository. I can run them, but add them (Comics, for instance).

Good catch. Wonder if Agentlame knows or has seen this yet?

It seems to me, that is how third party repositories are supposed to work now (the accessing them via name, not the apps don't install part). Frankly, I like it better this way, since now I am certain which app came from which repository, while the old method lumped everything together and actually caused some issues with overlap.
Stupid question: when you installed the apps and went back to check if they were properly installed, are you certain you did not have Boxee set to display App Library instead of My Apps? I was just able to add the Comics.com app and was about to post a confirmation of your findings about it not appearing in My Apps when I noticed I was actually looking at the App Library. After switching to the My Apps view, the Comics.com app was there and working fine.

Hi Cogadh,
the problem is slightly different for me. While some apps are added fine and I can see them in My Apps, for some there is a popup window saying that an error occurred and the application cannot be added.

Which apps produce the error message? I am running the Windows version, so if I can reproduce the issue, we can probably be certain that it isn't specific to the Linux build.

I specifically have the issue with the comic app from the unboxeed repo. I can confirm it is not already in My Apps.
I had the same problem this morning with sgilliard repositories (footytube and skysports apps), which btw now are not working ("No results found", quite annoying :( )
Cheers codagh,

I'm afraid I can't replicate this at all on Windows, I was able to add and use the comics, Footytube, SkySports and CNN apps from their specific repos and using Fuzz's "all in one" repo succesfully. Looks like it could be Linux thing.

Thanks a lot for checking that cogadh, I will look into it, it may be my build.
It would be good if somebody tried to replicate this in linux. I don't have my other linux box with me now.
Cheers,
S.

When I try to add the Comics app, it fails. In the log file I get the following

Does anybody know why this error? I repeat the app works when I run it.
Cheers,
S.
Edit: It is only comics.com! Ok, maybe somebody could change the title of the thread.
Edit: I can add it fine from fuzzthed repos. I can't from unboxeed. Weird.

looks like a bug. Doesn't look like boxee is grabbing the right addy to download the app from. wierd that it would work for one and not the other though.

Has anyone tried to use the app in the Beta? I tried today after seeing this post, it worked but when I would select a comic, nothing would happen, will have to try and build a log later today.
