I have been having a problem with the netflix app. It will not open when I click on the app in boxee. I plays just fine from my web browser. I was wondering if anyone else on a mac has run into this problem and if so is there a fix?
Thanks

both the alpha and beta won't run on snow leopard also on my apple tv on 2.x. It's been really frustrating. One day it was working and the next it wouldn't.

Did you clear your cookies? Boxee has one for Netflix. It won't work without it.

How do you clear the Netflix cookies in Boxee?

Exact same problem. Running 0.9.20.9816 with 10.6.2. One out of every 10 tries will work (not different content -multiple tries on the same content). The other 9 hang indefinitely at "Connecting to Netflix..."

We've discussed this in a few threads.
As far as I can tell, it has more to do with what ISP you have. Maybe we can get a list going of service providers from people having these problems?
When I am at home on my Qwest DSL account I have the same problems as described above. I can view Netflix fine in a browser but not in Boxee. When I am on my friends different Comcast wireless connections I have no problems with Boxee and Netflix. The Boxee team is aware of this issue at this point. Not sure when a solution will come out.

Wow, in my case, I think you're 100% right. I just tested switching back and forth between my main ISP (ATT Chicago) and my Verizion MiFi. The MiFi worked every time. ATT failed every time. That's really weird. I have no problem watching Netflix inside a browser with ATT.

My ISP is Time Warner Cable and I rarely have any Netflix issues. Sometimes during peak hours I'll get a little buffering, but other than that, nope.

I've had this problem since Alpha release. It used to work on previous versions but even after reverting back to other versions, Netflix wasn't working.
I'm on Comcast and it stopped working so it's possible that it is an ISP issue. Strange how it only affects Netflix on Boxee. Netflix does work through the browser though.
I was going to ask where you can submit your logs so that a problem could be detected, but I guess this is just a general issue?

Interesting that you are still having this problem with Netflix. The latest Beta released on the 23rd of Dec fixed my problems of Netflix connection issues. Are you sure you have it running? If so, perhaps delete everything Boxee in the computer, delete your logs in the user Library/Logs folder and Application support/Boxee folder. Do a fresh install of Boxee. Go to the Boxee website and re-link your account to Netflix and see if that fixes things.

I'm having the same issue.
I just received my 1.83 early macbook pro back from apple repair.
I used candleair to get the remote working in boxee, and linked boxee to netflix on this machine via boxee.tv.
When I launch anything from netflix it hangs on "connecting to netflix"
I'm running 10.6.2 with all the latest updates.
My isp is comcast.. never had a problem playing netflix in a browser..
Help!

Since I just reloaded the system it didn't have silverlight installed.
I installed silverlight and it's working fine now.
