Joost would be awesome! Especially since it's not US-only!

Joost also is working with a number of third-party platforms, including Boxee, chumby, Delicious, Digg, FriendFeed, Lifestream, Meebo, Mister Wong, Netlog, Netvibes, reddit and VideoSurf, to make it easier for people to use and access Joost across the web. In addition, Joost will implement Facebook Connect, which allows people to enjoy Joost within the context of their real identity and friendships on Facebook.

I was in Joost beta back in the day and I used it for a while , while i didnt have cable tv at the time and would watch most shows via Joost. The only problem i saw is that they had a lot of just poor content mixed with some good, lot of out dated stuff. I havent used it since.

I'd also like to see Joost added. While their content can be a mixed bag, I say ANY source added into Boxee = more choices. :)

That site seems to bounce to Orange eventually, anyway the full RESTful api for Joost is at www.joost.com/doc/api not all the requests require login but most do.

Bump: Joost is in the new release

I don't see what the big deal about Joost is, at least in the US it sucks. It works ok for me in Boxee (AppleTV, MacBook). The problem I have is the video quality is very poor and the aspect ratio is wrong. I think it has something to do with Joost being in the UK and the PAL standard. For example watch NCIS on Joost and on CBS. On CBS it plays and looks good. On Joost it is jerky, low quality, and has the wrong aspect ratio.

Thanks, that really cleared up the problem for me. I was just correcting your disinformation.

Joost is American.

OK, thanks. I thought it was based in London. I see it has branches in London, The Netherlands, and the US. Either way, am I the only one whose aspect ratio is wrong when playing things from Joost on the AppleTV?

Thanks for the response. I'm not sure how to go about it since I had to do a force install on my 64bit machine and was just following directions. I did

wget http://apt.boxee.tv/dists/hardy/main/binary-i386/boxee-0.9.6.4578.intrepid.deb

so I thought I'd try

wget http://apt.boxee.tv/dists/hardy/main/binary-i386/boxee-0.9.7.4825.hardy.deb

but no joy.
