i viewed a SS of the new boxee remote and thought the skin for the iPhone remote could use an update (really i just got bored and decided to whip one up for fun)

i couldn't make out the buttons from the low-res SS (http://boxee.tv/box) on the website but here it is.

i went for a very simple design cutting out the now playing screen (which could easily be added)

anyways comment and critique. also i have included the .psd if anyone wishes to tweak or implement.

They're all 320x480 except the Droid. They're all also 528mhz except the Droid. Although HTC and Motorola both have other phones coming out with faster processors and higher res screens sometime early next year.

I would loooove to get one for android! i saw the iphone app and it was cool. I think there are two android apps for boxee and they both have terrible gui's.

The new boxee box remote got me thinkin...will the iPhone app support keyboard entry? That would make life so much easier!

I envision a flip animation and the keyboard on the back to follow the style of the hardware remote. That would be pretty seamless.

ok i dont know if this is something that you can fix through the app but i figured that i would ask, ok so on the alpha you could search thing right on the app like the keyboard would come up and you could type in your search but in the beta it makes you go to each letter on the boxee screen does anyone know of a fix for this it is extremely annoeying?

I can't wait until there is a way to write one app and it work across multiple mobile platforms. Especially programs like this which I imagine are just using web API's. You should, theoretically, write this program once, and it work on multiple platforms including Palm's WebOS

Since there are more Android Phones coming out, it would be nice to see this App available for Android Phones. I see that it has been discusses before, but are there any plans to make it available for Android?

As far as I'm aware it already supports keyboard entry....... doesn't it?

If you navigate to a text field, the keyboard should popup.

Which is one of the reasons why I still find myself using the Intelliremote (Windoze only) iPhone app more often than the current Boxee iPhone app.

FYI, the current boxee iphone remote allows for QWERTY input. When you go into the search box in Boxee, a QWERTY keyboard appears on your iphone :)

I also don't get why this is a sticky- it isnt an actual product :(

An idea for the Boxee Remote App:
It would be wonderful to launch Boxee with the Boxee remote app. As of now, I am using Rowmote Pro to launch. But I prefer the Boxee GUI so I have to switch apps after launch. Also, command+Q in Rowmote doesn't quit Boxee. And the Boxee remote doesn't have that capability either. So adding the ability to Quit would be great along with being able to launch.

Another idea for improvement:

I have several iPhone (and other) users in the house, all of which use their own to control boxee. And we all have a machine running in our own room.

The only requirement for controlling using this remote is that you're on the network though. This enables someone outside of the room to just log in and start fooling around with the screen as a prank.

Can we use the same log in credentials that boxee uses to log into it's app as the login for the remote (the credentials need to match the ones currently being used by the box)? Something that you could save and not be troubled with, but would allow some control lock down.
