I tried streaming shoutcast and last.fm. Shoutcast appeared to be playing. The visualization in the background was working and the title at the top indicated that shoutcast was active. However, I didn't hear any music.
I was able to flip to a movie and the sound from the movie played fine.
With Last.fm, I couldn't get any sound to play either. I have entered my login information, so I could see the music from my last.fm account. When I clicked it, the wait icon in the middle would come up and then it would return to the list.
Anybody have an idea what may be wrong?

For some reason, I can't get it to recognize my music in my ~/Music directory either. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04.1. Boxee version is 0.9-r3970. Music plays fine through totem. Almost all of the music is normal mp3s.
Let me know if I can help further.

I didn't answer you're question about streaming video. That isn't completely working either. When I select something from hulu or comedy central it doesn't play. I just returns to the list. However, if I select a podcast it will play those.

I can't get any music to show up in boxee. I've read that boxee only "adds" albums not individual tracks, so that is what I tried. I added three albums to a directory in my home directory. All of my ID3 information is correct. Banshee, Amarok, and iTunes all show the music correctly.
All of my music is configured by first letter of artist name, then artist, then album, then the tracks of that album. The collection is large. 125GB last time I checked.
I didn't see anything in the system logs or the boxee.log in my home directory. Is there any way that I can force it to scan and then view the output of the scan? Maybe via a log somewhere?
