I agree about Wave. However, Google Voice is is a service that I don't know how I lived without.

I did a quick review some months ago when I got in, but nothing stood out engough to suck me in. I'll have to sit down and sort out what it has to offer me. What is it that works for you?

I did not find any invites on my voice profile.....Hmmmm.

Well, I have used GV from when it was still GrandCentral. The concept of the service is awesome. 'One number to rule the all' if it were.

I have a single number, it connects anyone that has it to me; anytime, anywhere. That is before you consider the email/SMS notifications, the transcriptions, the screening options and the voice mail that is akin to email.

For those of you using GV, I just found this task bar notifier. Looks interesting.

Sent. :)

I also agree about google voice. I love the thing. I have it rigged to call me wherever I am and like being able to check my messages via the web. I'm slowly switching out friends to my voice number instead of my cell.

Hopefully now that google bought out Gizmo5 there'll be even more cool stuff coming to it.

yeah, love it so far. I used the 'keep your existing number' option, but since im on verizon, its free visual voicemail (verizon charges 3 bucks/month), plus i can choose certain people (like workpeople) to a different voicemail message than those of my silly friends.

Looks like I need to revisit GV since I singed up with it some months ago. :)

It's one of those things that you have to commit to, to fully appreciate it.

Yeah, I'll have to get my head around it again and see if it's worth the commitment or not.

Does the Droid and Android 2.0 "natively" support Google Voice?i.e., can you set it to automatically call out using your google voice account/number when calling or texting? And also show your gv number when calling someone instead of your own number from your carrier? If not then what functionality do you get with Google Voice? Be specific please.

Thanks.

Yes. It asks you if you want google voice to handle all incoming and outgoing calls and/or SMS text messages. If you answer yes you're fully integrated.

I set up my Google Voice voicemail to take over my main number's voicemail. Getting SMS of the Voicemail's transcript is so great. I'm on Sprint btw. Oh and Google Wave is little overly complicated I'm not big on it.
