Does anyone have a good recommendation for a remote they use to control Boxee on Windows 7 platform?
I'm looking for a Boxee remote preferably with a mouse feature.
Thanks.

I recomend the PS3 remote control, it works very well and there is a tutorial in the forum how to setup with your pc :)

I just bought an ASRock Ion pc to load ubuntu and boxee on to and so I'm still in the first steps of setting up my box. From other users experience, is it better to go with an MCE type remote (or the PS3 remote that I've seen mentioned often) or something with a keyboard/mouse interface such as the Lenovo keyboard:
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:item.detail?GroupID=38&Code=57Y6336¤t-category-id=E9ADAEB6787146E29B78400A33E7FE8A&&hide_menu_area=yes
I was thinking about the Lenovo version so that I could use the keyboard to surf the web. Any opinions/experience of one versus the other? Thanks!

The windows media center remote does a great job for me. Ubuntu 9.10/Boxee beta.

Very happy with logitech harmony 520. Since, it's a universal remote it can control multiple devices seamlessly. It doesn't have a keyboard though.

I've been using the HDE PC remote (http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-USB-Remote-Control-Mouse/dp/B001M56DI0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) found on Amazon's cheep list. Pros: it's cheap; Cons: it sometimes shutdown my computer randomly (awesome!)
I think I'm going to use it until the Boxee remote is publicly released this late spring/summer.

I'll second this. I LOVE my Harmony 550. I can't imagine life without it :)

My husband is quite the thrifty shopper -- I think we found a good deal ($85 or $89?) locally -- Best Buy? Fry's? Something like that. It's been more than a year now so the details are fuzzy but I'm pretty sure we didn't get it online...
I like is so much I'd be tempted to recommend a refurbished one if you could find a reliable seller...

OP probably got a remote by now, but for any others.. I splurged on this Adesso remote:
http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-ARC-1100-Remote-control-infrared/dp/B000XVNJRM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264786617&sr=1-4
Has a nice mouse "pad" thing, and LMB and RMB buttons, for navigating windows too, when you need to.
Play, pause etc don't work in boxee, but no big deal. At least I couldn't get it to work. The Media center button is also a bit annoying as it will launch WMC..
Other than that I think it's great, and for $20, with a receiver?? Awesome deal.
edit: buttons that work in boxee: directions, OK, back and volume+-.

I can get you a Logitech Harmony One for $130 brand new. Cost covers the shipping as well. Let me know if interested.
