I've been using Boxee running on Ubuntu on AppleTV for a few days now, and while I like the interface the limited "umpf" of the AppleTV hardware makes the video overlay feature not so smooth. I'm talking about having a video playing, hitting menu, and having the video keep playing in the background while navigating the menu. The UI becomes less responsive and the video is choppy anyway, plus, who wants to miss a few seconds of their favorite show? I know you can just hit pause, then go to the menu, but it would be nice to have the option to "pause on menu" so that it was just one click (especially useful for apple remote which takes two clicks just to pause, then third to get to menu).

I'll second that - I accept the "keep playing in the background" as a feature, but I would probably use the "pause on menu" option, too.
