Hi,

I have a MCE compatible IR receiver and want to use it with an Harmony One universal remote and Boxee.

Right now I mapped the following buttons:

Cursor Control: DirUp, DirDown, DirLeft, DirRight, OK, Back
Playback Control: Play, Pause, FastForward, Rewind, Skip, Stop

The Microsoft Remote has a few more buttons and I wanted to ask if there is any documentation which of these buttons are used by Boxee so that I can map them as required.

Can anybody give me a hint where this is documented or what other buttons make sense?

Thanks, Robert

PS: I know that I could do it by trial and error but if there is already a list with explanations somewhere it would be easier. :-)

I now found the help in the login screen of Boxee.

The only key that I did not have yet in my list was the "Menu" key for the remote but I am not sure which one that is. The "DVD Menu" button of the MCE remote does not seem to have the effect described by the help.

However, the help also tells about additional keyboard keys: "H" for going to the home screen and "S" for calling the exit dialog.

In the meantime I have also installed Intelliremote and have now mapped the following keys:

Arrow Keys
OK
Back
Playback Controls (Play, Pause, Seek Forward, Seek Backward)
"H" (on the Menu key of the remote)
"S" (on the Exit key of the remote)

I have to say I am quite happy with this setup now. The Harmony One makes it easy to control different devices at the same time (e. g. keys mentioned above go to the HTPC while Volume control and the Mute button go to the TV). With Intelliremote it is really easy to create different setups for different programs. For example the same Exit button that quits Boxee does a Windows shutdown when in Windows.

Cheers, Robert
