Hey I was wondering what would happen if I decide to erase my library? Does that actually delete the actual files or just the thumbnails that Boxee archives to display cover files and so on? And what does Clean Old Thumbnails mean?

So 2 questions here;

1. Erase Library (what exactly is it erasing?)
2. Clean Old Thumbnails (what "old" thumbnails is boxee referring to?)

10x! :)
ps: BOXEE RULESSSSSSSS! :)

The "Erase Library" button merely purges your boxee database so your media can be re-indexed. It does not delete/modify your media in any way. Boxee never touches your physical media except for playing/viewing purposes.

Uhmm... so should I erase? I mean 4GB of image artwork seems a lot, dont you think?

Where are you getting the 4GB from? If it is the "Total Memory: 4096MB", I think that is merely showing the amount of RAM in your system and has nothing to do with the size of the Boxee library. Mine also shows the same (I have 4GB of RAM) and the library doesn't take up that much space.

I just erased the library to refresh everything and now I'm waiting for Boxee to re-index but doesn't seem like its doing it... how can I re-index the thumbnails? and how long does it take it?

Boxee only indexes when idle and if you have a lot of media it will take a while. Best bet is to just leave it running/minimized overnight or when you're doing something else.

Yah thats' what I was thinking... I was guessing that it takes a bit of time... cause I saw the album covers updating in boxee but not the movies but then again I have 65 movies in my Movie folder sized between 300mb - 800mb

My last question is; how can I get BOXEE to display the movie covers that I already have? And, lastly I think it would be cool to have larger thumbnails in the future for better experience ;)

I've had boxee running minimized on my ATV since this morning when I figured out how to get it running on 3.0.1. However, the Movie thumbs repopulated almost immediately. (I had started from a factory restore so the library was clean I think) but the TV thumbs STILL after many hours show NO artwork at all. I didn't have this problem before. Should I erase the library and start again or wait a few more hours? I would have exptected at least one or two of the TV shows to have artwork by now....

thanks

Hey DPK,

I had Boxee on idle since last night and in my "local movies" did not re-index more then the image below (same as last night)... what do I do? I've erased the library again and cleaned the old thumbnails hoping that would refresh whatever went back... let m know please.

Tanks.

UPDATE

After re-erasing the library and cleaning the old thumbnails I think that refresh something that might of went wrong from the previous "erase library" and now I think it's re-populating the artwork files; what's weird is that its displaying that 58 videos when really I have 69 videos in my movie folder... why the gap?
