Problems creating a patchstick with a 1GB Kingston thumbdrive

Hey guys, I'm having some issues creating a patchstick for the appletv. I just received a Kingston 1GB drive (http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Traveler-Flash-DTI-1GB/dp/B000AV14M2/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1225172087&sr=8-2) from Amazon. I then erased the drive in Disk Utility and set it up for mac osx extended. Then, I ran the patchstick app:

Creating USB Flash Disk...
umount_disk settling delay (10 seconds)
partition the target disk
umount_disk settling delay (10 seconds)
install recovery onto target disk
copy files to target disk
remove recovery hfsplus GUID
umount_disk settling delay (10 seconds)
change recovery to real GUID
umount_disk settling delay (10 seconds)
install patchstick onto target disk
copy files to target disk
Complete! (0:01:31)

Does all this look right? When I boot up with the thumbdrive, the appletv (v 2.2) loads up like nothing is different. Did I buy the right kingston drive?

while i can't figure it out from the amazon link, the exact model number of the drive; i know that only the kingston dt110 is know to work, while the dt100 does not... maybe the drive or packaging says if it's the 100 or 110?

The patchstick looks like it was created fine. Sometimes the AppleTV need to forced into a recovery boot in order to see the patchstick. To force a recovery boot, power-on the AppleTV while holding down the "menu" and "-" buttons down. Keep holding down the buttons until you either see lux/appletv or the normal AppleTV boot. It takes about 2-5 seconds for the IR remote to start sending IR after the two buttons are held down.
