I have a Windows computer holding all my media (and doing the downloads). Boxee is a Macbook, which travels out of the network quite often. So the network drive is often not visible to the Macbook. I tried to add the Windows share to Boxee as a network share, but it doesn't work properly. Even when the Macbook sees the share and can access the files, I often get errors form Boxee.

Any tips on how I should set it all up?

Thanks

1st off got to enable file sharing on your windows. know your User/Password.
On the mac, Finder, Go menu scroll down to Connect to Server. Type in
smb:// "Name of your windows computer or IP address" Then Connect, enter your user id/ password
It will mount the shares on your desktop..

Go to boxee, browze Devices and there it will be.

a simple way, make the connection in mac first. then launch Boxee. It will show up under Devices.

You can add it as a source. But, you will have to mount the Network your self before starting boxee. with Go, Conncet to Server, SMB.
Once you make the connection it will save it on the right in finder under Shared. Then at another time, just click the computer name under Shared in Finder and you are off and running. There is a network drive mapper/ laucher app out there if you want it Automatic.
