Wide icon (banner thumbnails) view mode support for TV Shows

XBMC supports wide icon (banner thumbnails) view mode when you scrape/download such wide icons from TheTVDB.com (http://www.thetvdb.com) for TV Shows.

I would actually recommend this view mode by default for TV Shows.

hey gamester,

currently using the wide banners isn't exactly inline with are ui design.
having said that, we are constantly trying to evolve and we'll defiantly consider using them in future versions.

I would much rather have icons that fit in with the Boxee UI than use the wide icons honestly. Most of the TV shows showed up just box art just fine but they are all shows that have been released on dvd.

Both TheTVDB.com and TV.com (which are the two most common sites to scrape) use wide icon banner style thumbnails as default.

The PM3 skin for XBMC was not originally designed for wide icons either but that does not stop them from looking great in that GUI.

I'm not a big fan of the wide icon banner style either.. It just doesn't flow. It is a shame that the 2 biggest sites for scrapping tv do use the banner style by default. Maybe with advent of boxee and the increase popularity in xmbc and other xmbc based media center's that are using skins that don't work well with the wide banners this will change. After all these sites are mostly based off public contribution, so if more of the public uses the skins and Media centers that aren't wide banner friendly we should see a slow divergence from the banner icons..
