Dear Boxee
ZOMG. I love this application. I am moving in a few weeks into a brand new condo from having roomates for the past few years. I'm excited to finally be able to fully design my home media solution from the ground up using technology that finally works and works reliably.
I downloaded and installed boxee and am currently running it on my Hackintosh. I have a 40 in LCD hooked into the second head on my video card and am noticing that this app works VERY VERY well with little to no issues; i've had not had a single crash yet and am very much in love with how its able to categorize; find artwork, reviews and info for all the files I've downloaded and stored over the years (hehe). I'm also excited to see that it supports virtually every codec out there which is a godsend if you're a ahem..resourceful guy like me who has a majority of his audio/video collection scattered into different unorganized files/folders.
Just a few simple questions:::
1) Sometimes I'm noticing, especially with larger M4V files that the playback seems to stutter at times. How do I fix this?
2) I found a way to add a "private" source that isn't scanned (ie; none of my porn shows up in the main menu) but it seems that it still shows up in "recently used items." Is there a way to lock out that content from being shown on the main screen even if it has been ahem..recently viewed?
3) The iphone app works really well but needs a bit of adjustment (ie, please make the volume slider further away from the play and pause buttons).
4) Is there a way to start up this application from the remote? as soon as boxee isn't running, my remote stops working.
