Don't display TBN and NFO files under videos, hide them and use them as intended instead.

TBN are thumbnail files (JPG, GIF, PNG or BMP extension renamed to TBN) are meant to overwrite any thumbnails/posters/covers that Boxee scrapes itself from the internet. TBN files should be hided under the video view in Boxee, as only videos should be displayed there.

NFO are text-files which can contain the specific URL to IMDb.com or TheTVDV.com and in which case should be used. NFO can also contain additional XML formated data that is meant to overwrite the metadata scraped on IMDb.com or TheTVDV.com. Like TBN files, NFO should be hided under the video view in Boxee, as only videos should be displayed there.

noted. indeed, they should be hidden and we should consider using the nfo's in the resolving process.

we'll take care of it.

it is also listing JPG files under videos (such as for example folder.jpg and fanart.jpg), ...ideally only videos should be listed under the video section, (same as only music files should be listed in the music section, and only digital still-images should be listed under the pictures section).

Is the idea of reading NFO files dead? I think many of us have been looking forward to this for some time. :-/

My library is extensively tagged with nfo files, being that boxee is based on xbmc I'm curious why these files arn't used. Boxee is not finding many of my more obscure shows even though I have the nfo files so its a bit of a pain!
