Fun with Hulu, advertisements, and pause

So I was watching Pitch Black on Hulu last night, via Boxee on my Apple TV, and I needed to take a quick break. I waited until an advertisement came up, hit Play/Pause, highlighted the on-screen pause button, and hit Play/Pause again. This did exactly what I expected. However, a few seconds later (maybe 10?), the movie started back up -- even though the display still said that the movie was paused. From this point forward the Hulu player and the on-screen Boxee UI were completely out of sync. The time ticked forward when the UI said the movie was playing, but Hulu's player said it was paused; and vice versa. I tried everything I could think of but ultimately I couldn't get it back in sync.

FYI, I installed the 3964 build before this happened. I never did finish watching the movie since I had missed a fair amount of it trying to figure out what was going on.

the movie is so so ...thanks for the report this is a known issue if you try and pause during the ads ..if you pause during the movie everything should be fine..

ya this one is pretty simple, hulu doesn't allow you to pause ads. The ad was paused by boxee, so it is really only pretending to be pause if you know what i mean.

"Simple" solution is to prevent boxee from allowing use of the pause button during commercials, or you could just...not do it lol. cheers.

"Ideal" solution would be that Boxee notes the "pause", displays a message along the lines of "Play of 'Pitch Black' will pause at the end of this commercial break" and then ... do that.

Between not being able to navigate backwards in Hulu and not being able to pause during a commercial, it makes bathroom breaks kinda hard to engineer.

I also paused during a Hulu movie, and then upon resuming could not get rid of the watermarks -- one at the top that said something like "This action allowed during this video" and the other was the progress bar at the bottom. This was on my ATV.

Very distracting.
