I've thrown together a (rough) working version of a YouTube Movies app that I'm currently testing. Once I set up my repository (which should happen by Friday) I'll release it for general consumption.

Okay, I've got the repository up: http://www.viralnarrative.com/boxee

The app is working but it's ugly in places. So here's my short to-do list:

- remove strange characters from descriptions
- remove pagination letters
- verify that incorrect movie images are a problem on YT's end
- add the shows channel

Hope you enjoy.

It's you ;)

Let me know some of the ones that aren't working for you... though this is a feed created via Yahoo Pipes, so the rules are consistently applied. That would seem to say if one works all *should* work... and those that don't could be on YouTube's end.

But give me some titles and I'll see what I can do.

No need to send any titles... I just did a quick click-thru and I think I saw something... The first few I tried wouldn't play, so I put their urls directly into a browser and saw that YT was putting up an age block message.

Basically the movies you're trying might be rated "R" so they won't stream unless YT sees you're signed in.

This particular app is limited because it's purely working with rss feeds. So to get around this I'll have to filter out movies that are R-rated... (which would diminish this app's "coolness").

I'll keep playing around with it and see what I can do.

movies on hulu = problems
movies hosted on crackle = problems
rated R movies = problems

Hmm...

On second thought, give me a couple titles from the first and second group. I'll look into those.
