When Boxee is running, hotkeys and apple remote doesn't work on mac

*please excuse the grammatical error in the title, doesn't should be don't XD*

With Boxee running, i can no longer use the hotkeys i have set up on my mac (i have sizzling keys installed to control itunes) also, even when boxee is closed, my apple remote still will not control volume or itunes or vlc (or anythign else for that matter) now i have set the apple remote to always running in boxee, but thats because its the only way to start boxee with the menu button on the remote (please correct me if i'm wrong). Any help is much appreciated.

there are a few options available to you.

Download controllermate and set up a custom profile for your controller and keyboard for when Boxee is running. Also works with other programs and can be set differently for whatever program is active and in use at the time.

Or

Try a Logitec Dinovo mini (also can be used with the above controller program, and works fantastic with Boxee.

Neither of these solutions are free unfortunately but both are very reasonably priced and will solve your problems im sure.

it will work with your mac by default for most things but controllermate will help you program the controls like play, pause etc and will also let you customise it better. I have both and its worth it.

Ok i got the dinovo mini, and have everything working fine, i set up controllermate and it works fine with everythign i did, except that for some reason the key i set up to launch boxee only works when controllermate is actually running. if i press it when its not running, boxee bounces on my dock but then disappears after a few seconds and doesn't start up. Any ideas?
I'm using this apple script to launch boxee withing controllermate

Again, doing this do shell script "#! /bin/bash

open -a Boxee" will launch boxee when controllermate is running, but not after i save and exit, launching other progams works fine, its just boxee i have a problem with
