I'm thinking we should start a pool.

My bet is 2012.

Credit where credit is due - The comic comes from the webcomic site xkcd - http://www.xkcd.com/619/

I'd like to see a lot more work done on accelerated video / decoding / performance issues in Boxee overall. Last I checked mythfrontend's performance ran circles around Boxee using Intel video.

You're obviously not using VDPAU in the Linux version of Boxee?

VDPAU is a rather new extension that only works on NVIDIA hardware from Geforce 8 and on.

A couple of my Boxee Boxes are old P4's with integrated Intel video. They aren't great for HD, but work great for std def. content, good with HD @ 720p or less in MythTV.

Now I wonder.... if anyone is making an XKCD app... :D
