Does anyone have any experience getting the Airclick USB to work with Boxee on Windows? The Airclick software appears to have a specific list of programs that it is designed to work with.

Can I capture the button presses and remap them to something more useful?

I just found a plug-in for the Airclick software that appears to accomplish what I need by simulating multimedia key or arrow key strokes. I'll let you all know how well it works when I can try it out.

I installed the new plug-in and the remote seems to work great now with Boxee. The plug-in seems to default to the multimedia buttons which didn't seem to do anything for navigating around in Boxee. When you hold down the play/pause button for at least 1.5 seconds though, the mode switches to emulating the enter key and the arrow keys. These work great although I had issues with the remote sometimes generating multiple button presses if I held the button down too long.

When I rebooted the computer, the remote defaulted back to multimedia keys and I had to switch it back to "arrow key mode".

The plug-in is available for free at the DIMIN Software (http://www.dimin.net/software/airclick) website. It works on Windows XP and Vista. My computer has Windows XP.

Hope this helps others! I didn't see much about the AirClick USB on the forums before now. You can find the remote brand new in original packaging for around $11 after shipping from Amazon's "Buy Used and New" sellers.

Another follow-up:
I wouldn't recommend the Airclick USB because it only has five buttons. It uses the play/pause button as the enter key and the other four buttons as arrow keys. There is no escape key and Boxee works much better if you have the escape key.

I now use the boxee remote for android or the web remote depending on which device I have nearby.
