My laptop has an onboard IR sender/receiver on the front of it. Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to map the onboard IR receiver to receive signals from any regular IR remotes and thus use almost any remote I choose to control the laptop / boxee? I have a PC remote that has a USB receiver of it's own, but I'd like to use the onboard receiver of the laptop so that I don't have to plug in extra hardware. I figure there should be some software out there which will allow me to map IR signals from any remote to do what I want on the PC. I figure you would just have to point the remote at the PC and press a button so that the PC can map each remote IR signal to a key of your choice. I didn't have any luck finding anything though. Any suggestions?

I wish there was some way of doing this in OS X. I know we get the tiny Apple Remote with it but I've got some beefier remotes I'd love to be able to use!
