XBMC iphone application

I've stumbled across the XBMC remote application in the itunes app store, and I know that the two projects are closely related - has anyone tried/or know if this iPhone application can be used to control boxee? Id be willing to spring for it if somebody could confirm it might work.

Does it work with boxee or xbmc on the appletv??

the iphone app does not... the web app may.
