I'm connected wirelessly to a Windows network share and the process of adding and indexing about 9000 songs has been pretty arduous. After at least 24 hours of indexing between crashes, the entirely library is still not available and is growing slowly but in what appears to be a random fashion (A artists following T, or artists' albums added in random order).

Should I be patient and just let it keep doing its thing? It would be nice if Boxee offered some kind of status bar. Is a 9000-song catalog too big to manage this way on the Apple TV? Do I blame the network and share drive? My MacBook Pro completed the task overnight.

Also, just out of curiosity, where does Boxee store all this metadata? it would be nice to share it between my Apple TV and Mac installations.

+1 for some kind of status on the indexing.
+1 for sharing metadata info.

There's actually been some discussion about metadata in the forums. Hopefully, Boxee will read the metadata from the file when indexing. Still, that doesn't address the issue of sharing the data with another device on your LAN so it doesn't have to re-index the whole library again.

+1 for importing/exporting Boxee metadata from the DB (it would have to maintain the same path).

Okay, so I love the idea of Boxee and I'm really happy that I can stream Hulu and Last.fm on my Apple TV, but this is getting ridiculous.

I can't play two songs consecutively from my Windows share without the software exiting with a status 11 error.
