Shuffle

An essential requirement for me is a quick & easy “shuffle” features for music. If it’s there I haven’t discovered it yet. If it’s not there I’ll have to rely on iTunes for music

Here are a couple other wish list items that fall much lower on the priority list:
1. “Playlist” features for music
2. A click of “Menu” would pause the active video
3. more weather features, similar to PLEX’s
4. old-school RSS “tickers” scrolling somewhere… maybe on the homescreen

Pie-in-the-sky requests:
5. iPhone/iPod Touch remote!
6. EyeTV support
7. peripheral USB inputs, such as a TV tuner.

Can we just have a way to import playlists from itunes since i wont ever stop updating my playlists since boxee doesnt control my iphone and ipods... yet ;)=

I vote for this as well! For me, it's a requirement. Until then I'll mainly use XBMC.

Not sure what the policy is on jumping on the bandwagon, but I would like to add the requestors for shuffling.

As of now I am moving all my music back to itunes as I only listen through shuffle.

Any word on this? I would love shuffle. No shuffle means I don't use boxee to listen to my music files.

Same here, I listen to last.fm now mostly, but whenever I listen to my own music I only listen to it through shuffle. I would like a feature so that you can shuffle through your entire collection.

You can shuffle your music with my playanything app for now. ( you can also play tv shows and movies in shuffle mode too)

Two years and this is still not implemented? C'mon Team Boxee, get your act together.
Some form of Shuffling has been available in all, including the most basic of media players for years, why is it not available in Boxee?

Well, the current incarnation (rebuilt from the ground up) is only about eight months old. But yeah, music functionality is sorely lacking in Boxee -- I sure hope to see it improved soon!

Another request for shuffle, especially regarding local files. Situation is very basic:

I have a directory of shows in locally stored filesystem, specifically shows my kids enjoy. Would like to be able to say, "boxee, play random movies from this directory till we stop", a shuffle + repeat like iTunes.

Seems a basic thing, are there complexities about this I am missing?
